What People Are Saying

I just want to say how very much I enjoy our tennis lessons. It is something that I really look forward to every week. Thank you for making them interesting, fun and full of activity so not only do we upgrade our skills, but we get a great workout and have fun at the same time. Well done!

Thank you so much for teaching me the proper technique for tennis. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful coach. You have thought me things that I never knew and showed me that tennis isn't just hitting the ball back and forth. You have been a fantastic coach. Thank you!

Thanks very much indeed for preparing Brittany for the 3-week Bollettieri program in Tampa, Florida. We thought it was important to forward her Academy Report to you before this afternoon's training session.

Extras from the Academy Report:

...it's also important for her to continue working on the fundamentals of each stroke. She already has a very good foundation in regards to the strokes. Her coach at home has obviously done a great job with her...

I have been with WCTA for a little over a year now, I started with little knowledge of the game. WCTA helped me develop my skills as a player and has been beneficial physically and mentally. Now, one year later, I believe that the level of my tennis has improved dramatically.

The coaches are friendly and easy to talk to and always have a great program written each week with a variety of well thought out drills to develop our strokes, footwork and movement.

Since I started playing with WCTA there have been no last minute cancellations or premature finishes. The coaches are always very fair and have always given one hundred percent into every single lesson.

WCTA is an excellent way of improving your tennis and fitness. Joining WCTA was a great step in improving me as a person and as a tennis player.

Simon has coached me for over 8 years now. I started with Simon when I was 40 yrs old with undisciplined tennis strokes and court craft. I never thought that I could improve my tennis skills at such a late stage in my life. However, Simon proved me wrong.

He started out by studying my style of play and rather than make drastic changes to my strokes and causing me to lose interest in the sport, he opted to change the strokes progressively overtime. It has been a series of easy transitions.

His use of drills to improve fitness, mobility and court awareness is an integral part of his coaching style. This approach re-inforced any stroke and style changes implemented.

Simon is also highly professional and committed to his customers. Weather permitting, I have never experienced a last minute cancellation by Simon in the years he has coached me. This is a reflection of the high level of professionalism that Simon embraces.

I am a better tennis player as I head into my fifties, thanks to Simon. I enjoy the game a lot more because I am doing it right, better and still improving!

Outstanding tennis coaching from the team at WCTA. My son has been with WCTA for over 3 years and his game has improved tremendously. Improvements were gained technically and in match play with in depth analysis and positive mentoring. All facets of the game are coached from footwork, court savvy, technical stroke making and the mental side of the game.

Thank you for your coaching and mentoring of Belle and for enabling her to continue with you through WCTA at POTC.

Under your tuition, Belle’s skills and confidence as a tennis player have improved and more importantly her confidence in herself generally is greater.

Belle loves her tennis and is always willing to learn and work at improving her game. She is very comfortable with you and values your advice not only with tennis. Reuniting with you as a coach was a fantastic thing for us.

On behalf of the GPTC Committee I want to hereby formally thank you for making the effort, and indeed spending your own private time, to enable the wonderful Hot Shots “Kids on Court” experience for 10 of our up & coming Junior members.

To be able to get in to the Aussie Open, and play pre-match on one of the courts the kids see on TV, is an experience that will surely remain with the children involved, spurring them on in both interest and attitude as they develop their skills and love for the great sport of tennis.  Furthermore, to get Centre Court in Rod Laver arena as the chosen court for our group was a wonderful bonus.

As for Natalie getting chosen for the 1st coin toss of the Aussie Open, well, that was the cream on the cake not only for her and her family, but hopefully also for you and the rest of the attending ‘Greythornites’. It was great to hear our club’s name broadcast around Centre Court!

With the above in mind, a sincere “THANKS” to you Simon from the GPTC committee members for making possible and organising that special day for the kids.

You are truly an asset to our club, a great coach, indeed a mentor for many of the kids, and a positive spirit for the game of tennis. We wish you luck with continuing your well run and professional coaching program at GPTC.

Thank you again for the coaching session on Tuesday night, I'm really happy to know that I am now using the right techniques - thanks to you!

The last two years have been really hard for me, because I feel that I basically learnt nothing - I feel as if I was being "mislead" by the coaches and staff at my former Tennis Club. I believe they didn't realise what I am capable of, they didn't see my potential.

But I'm now very confident that I can quickly catch up on the two years I lost by having you as my coach.

You have a great gift for coaching Simon and I'm sure you know it!

— Vince P., Brighton East

I started with WCTA 7 years ago when I was just a little kid. As a complete novice to the game, I learnt all the basics from footwork to stroke technique through well designed drills, that were both physically challenging and fun at the same time. This further piqued my interest in tennis and encouraged me to continue improving my skills.

I am now in Year 12 of high school, and in the midst of my stressful VCE exams, I find that my tennis lessons with WCTA are fantastic way of both keeping fit and relieving stress. Both these aspects are essential for achieving success in the academically.

The coaches are friendly and easy to get along with. More so, they are extremely dedicated to what they do, always delivering a well-planned lesson and spurring us on with great enthusiasm. With the exception of rainy days, they have never made a last minute cancellation.

I have undoubtedly made great improvement in my tennis thanks to the excellent coaching provided by WCTA. In addition, it allows me to keep myself in good shape, and is always fun and engaging. Taking lessons with WCTA has been one of the best decisions of my life!

It was a pleasure to meet you today. I enjoyed watching your lesson and was very impressed by the positive focus of your approach not to mention all of the 'gadgets' you employ during a lesson.
